Betty J. Still

June 15, 1932 — January 16, 2023

Betty June (Shirk) Still, 90, of the Primrose Retirement Community in the Kansas City Northland, joined her Lord and Savior on January 16, 2023, at her home.

Betty was born June 15, 1932, in Kansas City, MO, one of five children of Ralph and Eva (Martin) Shirk. She graduated from Central High School and later in life received her Associate’s degree from Maple Woods Community College. She worked many years as a retail clerk, including at Katz Drug Company, Macy’s and Dillard’s.

Betty was a Christian, a follower of Jesus Christ, and a member of Northland Cathedral. She took to heart the song “Jesus Loves the Little Children” and loved everyone! Also important to her in her walk of faith was a mandate from Proverbs…forgive as we are forgiven. Betty loved and forgave.

Along with her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, James Dale Still; and brothers, Roger Shirk and Daniel Shirk.

Survivors include her children, Deanna Still, Dale Still (Nancy) and Stephen Still; grandchildren, Tiffany Kruse (Nick) and Mitchell Still; great grandson, Colt; siblings, Charles Shirk (Sharon) and Barbara Burch; as well as nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm, followed by a service celebrating Betty’s life at 2:00 pm, on Thursday, January 19, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO. Burial will follow at Terrace Park Cemetery.
