Elinor Ruth Chilcote Story, 84, joined her Lord and Savior on October 2, 2021, at Heritage Village of Gladstone, Missouri. She passed away with loved ones at her side.
Elinor was born July 16, 1937, in Lena, Illinois, the eldest of three children of Donald L. and Florence (Brocious) Shadle. She was a 1955 graduate of East High School in Rockford, Illinois, and attended Open Bible College in Des Moines, Iowa.
Elinor was united in marriage to Reverend William Ronald Chilcote in 1956 and they were blessed with two daughters, Joy and Starr. Bill preceded Elinor in death in 1999. She was married to Samuel Story in 2004 and he passed away in 2018.
Elinor was a pastor's wife and while Bill served as Dean of Open Bible College, Elinor served as Registrar. Later she proudly worked as a Router of Film Prints for World Wide Pictures of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and also worked as a Kitchen Supervisor for BGEA.
While living in the Minneapolis area, Elinor was a member and volunteer at Hope Presbyterian Church in Richfield. She then lived in Tulsa, Hartford (AR), and Oklahoma City before moving to the Kansas City area to be near family.
Along with her parents and spouses, Elinor is preceded in death by her sister, Donna Pyles.
Survivors include her daughters, Joy Coker (Curtis) of Parkers Prairie, Minnesota; and Starr Riegel (Greg) of Gladstone, Missouri; five grandchildren and a great grandson. She also leaves her brother, Dennis Shadle; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
A memorial service will begin at 11:00 am, followed by visitation until 1:00 pm, on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at City Hill Church, 12901 Roberts Road, Eden Prairie, Minnesota 55346.
