Earl Lee Sumpter

Earl Lee Sumpter, 72, a lifelong Turney resident, passed away April 25, 2019 at Cameron Regional Medical Center. Earl was born January 1, 1947, the eldest of two sons of Amos Ezra and Bessie (Eads) Sumpter. Along with his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Sondra, and brother, Larry. Earl graduated from Lathrop High School. He worked 33 years at Ford Motor Company at Claycomo, retiring in 1997, and was a member of the UAW.

Survivors include his children, Dana Roe (Chuck), Tara Wickstrom (Darin Robinson), Lee Wickstrom (Casie) and Clint Sumpter (Mackenzie Hayes); grandchildren, John “Bopper” Harbolt (Lacy), Kyle Harbolt, Derek Kammer (Kortney Reddell), Bryce Kehler, Kolby Caldwell (TraytonShinneman), Lee Wickstrom Jr., DrayvenSumpter (Missy Cawthon) and Sondra Sumpter; five great grandchildren, as well as other family members and many friends.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm, followed by a celebration service at 6:00 pm, on Wednesday, May 1, at the Turney United Methodist Church, Turney, MO.
