Doris E. Taylor

February 12, 1935 — October 29, 2019

Doris Elleen (Salazar) Taylor, 84, of the Kansas City Northland, passed away October 29, 2019, at Liberty Hospital surrounded by family. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Monday, November 4, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty. A service celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, November 5, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel. Burial will follow in Glenridge Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Friends In Service of Heroes (F.I.S.H.) at friendsinserviceofheroes.org.

Doris was born February 12, 1935, in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from Westport High School. Doris worked in the trucking business for many years and was a member of Teamsters' Local 41. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and had recently attended St. Gabriel Archangel Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Doris enjoyed martial arts, music, and Harley-Davidsons, and was a member of various riding organizations.

Doris was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Hopson; mother, Katherine (Nelson) James; son, Marty Salazar; brothers, E.L. Hopson, Curtis Hopson and J.T. Hopson; and sister, Edna Phipps.

Survivors include four children, Chris Hopkins (Carl), Michele Salazar-Owens; Greg Salazar (Mary) and Damien Salazar (Tina); grandchildren, Jeremy, Ryan (Taylor), Annastacia "Stacy", Sara, Antonina, Meagan, Niccolo, Maxamose, Leo and Eleena; 12 great grandchildren; other family members and many friends. She was a devoted mother and Nani and will be greatly missed by all.

Service Information:
