Taylor, George S.

Taylor, George S.

January 23, 1947 — September 7, 2021

George Sexton Taylor, 74, Village of Loch Lloyd, Missouri, died Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from complications associated with Covid-19.

George was born January 23, 1947 in Houston, TX to Jeff Sexton and Phyllis Taylor. He was later adopted by stepfather, Ferris Taylor. George grew up in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, and lived the life of a ‘free range kid’ as only a child of the 1950’s could truly experience. While in high school, he met the love of his life Tamara O’Dell.

George served four years in the US Air Force where he trained dogs for combat during the Vietnam War and was stationed in San Antonio, Texas and later in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he graduated cum laude from the University there. Most of his career was spent in the transportation industry.

George leaves behind his broken-hearted wife of 53 years, Tamara, daughter Amy Lane (Joel), son Bryan Taylor (Andrew), two grandsons, Bryce Berwald and Bronson Berwald (Brooke), and sister Marybeth Singer.

Mr. Taylor was one of a kind. He was one of the craziest, funniest, sternest, goofiest, etc, etc, etc men i knew all wrapped up in one. I got a chuckle or a what in the world thought from watching him everyday. Just recently myself and a few of his former co-workers were laughing at some of his antics. We had a good time reminiscing. RIP MR. TAYLOR Heartfelt Sympathy to the Family!!

Tamara and Family, George's passing is a true loss for all that knew him. Since high school he was a guy who I both admired and respected. He had the courage to say what he thought and follow through with actions to match. I am going to miss him. It wasn't his time. Our condolences to the family for this tragic loss.

Heartfelt condolences to your entire family. I cared for George as his nurse, and am heartbroken by this news. He absolutely adored his sweet wife. He said "she's the only woman who could put up with me." He referred to them as high school sweethearts. He loved to show pictures of his red car and talk about his grandsons wedding. We laughed about stealing cigarettes from his parents, and that he quit smoking at 7 years old. I only knew him for a short time, but he was a good man. I wish you all comfort during this hard time and hope the memories of your time together will bring you peace.

Tamera My heart is broken for you Tamera. I appreciated George and counted his friendship a blessing. We could go for months without talking and then out of the blue, he or I would connect. I so enjoyed his company. George was someone I knew I could count on if I needed something. I remember the time I called for one of our mutual friends when she needed a second opinion for her broken ankle and he gave me the name of who to send her to. She would be crippled or without a foot without his help. Or offering to share your Arizona home with my great-niece. I remember he would tell me "Tamera is a Saint for putting up with me" I would agree and then we would laugh. He was always talking about you and it was apparent how much he loved you. Dwell on your memories for comfort. Please call me if you want to visit. Loving Memories my Friend Suzette
