Terry "Mike" M. Bartels

Terry Bartels, aka Mike, age 76, of Liberty, MO passed away Monday, March 11, 2024. 

Terry is survived by his wife Rosie; four children, Ellen, David/Christina, Liz and Nick; four grandchildren, Noah, Avery, Nicholas and Jacob; and countless nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Hazel; and his siblings, Lois, Don, and Shirley.

Terry grew up in Mobridge, SD and attended South Dakota School of Mines. He lived in Liberty for 53 years where he enjoyed sharing stories over coffee or a meal with friends and family as his greatest past time. He could talk with anyone and impact their life for the better.  As a mechanical engineer, Terry’s working career focused on fire and explosion risk management in power plants across the states. He spent his formative career years with KCP&L and then ventured into the consulting world with his own business.  

Terry was a man of service. He served in the US Army for four years active and eight years in the Reserves as a Combat Engineer. He was also a founding member of Habitat for Humanity in the Liberty, MO area.   Our family is grateful to know that Terry is finally at peace.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm, with a service and blessing at 6:30 pm, on Friday, March 15, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO.  Following the service, visitation will continue until 8 pm.
