Carol Maxine (McLaughlin) Thomas, 88, of Kearney, MO, passed away July 21, 2022, at KU Medical Center surrounded by family.
Carol was born January 22, 1934, in Princeton, MO, the eldest of five children of Elmer and Dora (Oliver) McLaughlin. She grew up and attended school in Spickard, MO, and later graduated from high school in Trenton, MO.
Carol was united in marriage to Frank Lewis Thomas on October 15, 1952, in Trenton, MO, and they were blessed with four children. They lived many years in Liberty, and after retirement moved to Albany, MO. Carol and Frank returned to Kearney, MO in 2019 to live near family.
Carol worked many years at KTTN Radio in Trenton and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Liberty.
Along with her parents, Carol was preceded in death by sons, Ronald Thomas and David Thomas; and sister, Joetta Burkeybile. Survivors include her husband of nearly 70 years, Frank; children, Robbie Thomas and Larry Thomas; daughter-in-law, Debbie Thomas; six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and a thirteenth due later this year; siblings, Marylin Wynne (John), Thomas McLaughlin (Bonnie) and Shirley McLaughlin; as well many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm, followed by a service celebrating Carol's life at 3:00 pm, on Sunday, July 31, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, 1640 North State Route 291, Liberty, MO.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
