Timothy “Tim” Charles Suffridge, age 58 passed away surrounded by loved ones at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri on April 24, 2024. Tim grew up in a loving home in the Raytown, MO area where he made lifetime friends in school, church and the neighborhood. Tim loved sports of all kinds but he excelled in basketball. He and his brother Troy spent many hours competing in the front yard of the home and then would take the tennis rackets to the park and play tennis until dark many a night. Tim graduated from Raytown High School in 1984. He attended Mid America Nazarene on a basketball scholarship but transferred to Mt. Vernon Nazarene University to be near his brother.
Tim worked various jobs throughout his lifetime. Working Security at John Knox Village was one of his fondest memories. The older people held a special place in his heart. Most of his life work was as a custodian, and it was while working in the Raytown School District that he made several strong and lasting friendships.
Tim's love for sports, especially the KC Chiefs and Royals was not the only interest he felt strongly about. He enjoyed various kinds of music, reading, writing poetry and was writing a book at the time of his death. Painting was therapeutic for him and he has left us with some beautiful art work.
Tim always wanted to be a dad and welcomed Brandon as his own when he entered his life at a very young age. Andrew joined the family several years later coming from Ohio to be near his brother. Tim just recently shared how proud he was of both of the boys who have become responsible, loving and caring young men.
Tim's spiritual journey was started early in his life and continued until the day of his death. Those who knew him best were aware of his knowledge of the Bible, and his relentless search for truth. One of his favorite scriptures ended with; and now these three remain; faith, hope, and love; but the greatest of these is love.
Tim is survived by his mother Kathy Suffridge/ Allison and stepdad Don Allison, his Aunt Marilyn & Uncle Duane Small, Aunt Audrey Walker, Uncle Larry Cyt, Aunt and Uncle Ted and Gladys Suffridge, along with many cousins and friends. Tim was proceeded in death by his Grandparents, Elmer and Minnie Cyr, Greene and Martha Suffridge, his brother Troy Suffridge and father Charles Suffridge.
Though he may have left this world, his memory will live on in our hearts. He was a big man with a big heart and has left a profound impact on those blessed to have known him. The family deeply appreciates your love and support during this most difficult time.
