Trudy Denise Woodworth, age 62, died peacefully on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at her residence in Lee's Summit, Missouri from ALS.
Trudy was born on August 21, 1962 in Seattle, Washington. She and her husband, Mark, raised six children in Lee's Summit, Missouri: Alicia (Isaac) Nelson, Stacia (Matt) Birkinsha, Michele (Eric) Littlewood, Heather (Kinloch) Gray, Jason Woodworth, and Kate Woodworth. They have nine grandchildren with one on the way. Trudy grew up in Wilmington, Delaware with her parents, Shelton and VeNae Till, and six siblings: Kevin, Robin, Tracy (identical twin), Teresa, Michele, and Steven. Trudy graduated in 1980 from Decatur High School in Federal Way, Washington. She attended BYU in Provo, Utah in 1980, where she met Mark and later married in Salt Lake City on August 16, 1985, celebrating 39 wonderful years of marriage.
Trudy was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Trudy served in numerous church callings in Relief Society, Primary, and Young Women. She was also an accomplished baker and cook and enjoyed creating new dishes for family and friends. Trudy’s favorite pastime was reading and she had a passion for learning. She was selfless, kind, and loving to all those she met. Trudy was surrounded and cared for by her family and friends during her final months. Trudy left a legacy of faith and trust in her Savior, Jesus Christ, and was an example of perseverance and patience in her trials and challenges. She touched so many lives for good. She will be missed.
Trudy will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri. It will be a private family burial service.
A memorial service for Trudy Woodworth will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building - located at 850 SE Church Street in Lee's Summit, Missouri on Saturday, September 28, at 11am.
The Woodworth family would like to express profound gratitude to those at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, the ALS team at KU Medical, and the amazing staff at Ascend Hospice for their professional loving service and care.
