Kevin Dean Uhlmann

Kevin Dean Uhlmann, 50, of Liberty, passed away August, 20, 2018 at his home, surrounded by family.

Kevin was born March 11, 1968, in North Kansas City, MO, the youngest of four children of Richard and Doris (Sensabaugh) Uhlmann.  He graduated in 1986 from Liberty High School and received his Bachelor's degree from William Jewell College in 1990. Kevin worked for Sierra Building Products for 10 years and most recently for Western First Aid and Safety since its inception. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church.

Kevin was preceded in death by an infant son, Kevin James Uhlmann, and father, Dick.  Survivors include his high school sweetheart and wife of 31 years, Denise (Sales) Uhlmann; children, Joshua Uhlmann, Jordan Uhlmann (Nichele) and Taylor Uhlmann; mother, Doris Uhlmann; brothers, Jeff Uhlmann (Lori) and Steve Uhlmann (Terrie); sister, Vicki Uhlmann (Doug Fryer), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends, especially his Long Shot family.

Kevin's love of sports began at an early age playing football, basketball and baseball.  He continued playing those three sports at Liberty High School, where he also developed a passion for coaching. He coached beginning in 1984 until 2012.  Nothing gave Kevin more joy during those years than coaching his sons. He also refereed football and basketball for Liberty Parks and Recreation. Kevin was a member of the Liberty High School "Chain Gang" since 2002.  He refereed junior/high school basketball through MSHSAA for the past 10 years, including Special Olympics basketball, and was a member of the GKCOA (referee association). If you didn't find Kevin in the stands at Liberty, you could find him on the court.
