Horn Pauline L. Van

Pauline Louise (Samborski) Van Horn, 91, a longtime resident of Lathrop, MO, passed away April 19, 2020, at Lawson Manor in Lawson, MO. She was born February 7, 1929, in Kansas City, MO, one of eight children of Romanian immigrants, John Louis Samborski and Julia Korzinowski Samborski. She was united in marriage to James Gordon Van Horn and five children were born to the union. Jim preceded Pauline in death in 2013 after 63 years of marriage. Along with her parents and husband, Pauline was preceded in death by five siblings. Pauline was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include her children, Steve Van Horn (Marie), Mike Van Horn (Linda), Micki Cole, Tim Van Horn (Theresa) and Chris Van Horn (Sharolyn); 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; brother, John Samborski; sister, Julie Williams; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Private graveside services April 22, 2020 at Calvary Cemetery, Plattsburg. When circumstances allow, a memorial Mass will be held at St. Ann’s in Plattsburg for all family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the St. Ann’s Altar Society or to the local food pantry of the donor’s choice.
