Arlyn E. Vanwinkle

Arlyn E. VanWinkle, 95, passed away April 2, 2022.  Visitation will be 1-2PM, Friday, April 8 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, Missouri; 2PM graveside service in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Arlyn Ellis Van Winkle, 95, passed away peacefully April, 2, 2022 at the Health Care Resort of Kansas City, in Kansas City, KS.

Arlyn was born and raised in Oak Grove, Arkansas.   He married the love of his life, Carthel Augustus (Ayers) Van Winkle on June 15, 1952.   When they got married they moved to Raytown, Missouri and he began a job at the Kansas City Terminal Railroad where he worked until he retired.   He was a member of Edwardsville Assembly in Edwardsville, KS.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Carthel Van Winkle, his parents Hubert and Novella (Anderson) Van Winkle, a brother, Virgil Van Winkle, a sister, Freida Thorpe and a grandson, Brandon Paul Van Winkle.

He is survived by a brother Dale Van Winkle and his wife Francis, his son’s Ronald Van Winkle and wife Marilyn, Jerry Van Winkle and his wife Donna.  His grandchildren Aaron Van Winkle and his wife Kristie, Jason Van Winkle and his wife, Jenny, Jared, Aimee and Alisha Van Winkle, Michelle Gibson and her husband Larry, and Dale Billings and his wife Kelly.

Arlyn is also survived by many great-grandchildren, friends and family.
