Eva B. Vassar

Eva Blanche (Bollmeyer) Vassar, 95, of Kearney, MO, entered her heavenly home on May 31, 2022. She died at home with family at her side.

Eva was born June 15, 1926, in Concordia, MO, the eldest of four daughters of William Fred and E. Blanche (Sanders) Bollmeyer. She grew up in Aullville, MO and graduated from high school in Concordia. Eva was united in marriage to John J. Vassar on August 30, 1946.

She retired as a cook for the preschool at First Assembly of God in Liberty. Eva and John were active in the Assemblies of God at Liberty and Lawson, and most recently at Grace Community Church in Smithville.

Along with her parents, Eva was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, John; sons, Roger Vassar, Steven Vassar and his wife Lisa; infant brother Fred Bollmeyer; and sisters, Jean Manning and Irene Pennington.

Survivors include three children, Wayne Vassar (Linda), Eva Janice Swalley (Basil deceased), and Bill Vassar (Cathy); sister, Billie Ann Hestand; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 7, at Glenridge Cemetery, State Highway B at Shepherd Road, Liberty, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Grace Community Church Building Fund, Smithville, MO.
