Emblem

Vincent F. Igoe, Jr., known to many as “Mike”, of Liberty, Missouri, and formerly of Leawood, Kansas, passed away on January 12, 2025 at the age of 79.

He leaves behind his wife Diane Moore Igoe; children Carol Igoe Amiri (Mohsen Amiri, M.D.), Christopher Igoe (Dana Igoe), and Louis Igoe (Catherine Dodge). He also leaves grandchildren Vincent Amiri, Mary Elizabeth Amiri, Preston Igoe, and Jackson Igoe; other family members Janet and Chuck Fiegel, and Teresa Moore.

Vincent graduated from William Jewell College in 1967 and UMKC Law School in 1972, where he was a member of the Law Review and Editorial Staff. After graduation from law school, he served two years as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Missouri under John Danforth. He also practiced as a Special Assistant Prosecuting Attorney under William Brandom for eight years. Additionally, he taught Appellate Advocacy at UMKC School of Law and served as an instructor of Business Law at William Jewell College. He was an attorney and partner at Withers, Brant, Igoe, and Mullenix, P.C. He practiced law for over fifty years and it was truly his passion. He tried over one hundred jury trials and conducted over one thousand mediations. Some of his past legal activities include Executive Committee and member of the Board of Governors of the Missouri Bar Association, Chairman of the Missouri Bar Board of Governors Tort Reform Legislation Review Committee, President of the Clay County Bar Association, member–at–large of the Executive Committee of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, liaison to the ADR Committee of the Missouri Bar Association, and Co-chair of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee. However, his most proud professional achievements were involving Notre Dame de Sion Schools, where his children attended the Lower School and his daughter and granddaughter graduated from the high school. He served on the board of Notre Dame de Sion Schools, was the school attorney, and helped pay off the final obligation to the Sisters of Sion so the school did not close its doors.

He loved hunting and fishing with his sons and grandsons. He always said it was not about hunting or fishing; it was about the time he spent with his boys. His entire existence was for his family. He always showed up; no matter what and no matter where. He was the best. There is no one like him and never will be. The amount he will be missed by Diane, their children, and grandchildren is immeasurable.
