Virginia L. Lee, beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, peacefully departed this world on November 29th, 2023 surrounded by loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Isabell Hill.
Virginia is survived by her devoted husband, David Lee, and loving children, Nicole Lee and Aaron Lee. Cherished memories of her will forever remain in the hearts of her brothers, James Hill, George Hill, and Charlie Hill, and her sister, Karen Palmer.
A proud grandmother, Virginia leaves behind a legacy through her grandchildren: Anthony Rancatore, Dena Slusher, Lauren Groceman, Francesca (Frankie) Lee, and Benton Lee. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Ezra Rancatore and Aurora Rancatore.
Known for her unwavering faith, Virginia was a dedicated Christian and lay minister at Mount Washington Church. She lent her voice to the church choir, uplifting the congregation with her beautiful singing.
Virginia served her community for over 30 years as a government worker with the IRS. Her altruistic spirit extended beyond her professional life, as she was an avid blood donor, volunteer teacher, and provider of meals and ministry to the homeless. She found joy in her frequent travels and exploring national parks with her family.
A beacon of love and warmth, Virginia orchestrated large family gatherings and meals, embodying the true essence of togetherness. Her selflessness and consideration for others were the cornerstones of her character.
May Virginia rest in eternal peace, her spirit forever alive in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be 6-8PM, Tuesday, December 5 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services will be 10AM, Wednesday, December 6 at Park Lawn Funeral Home; burial in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Immediately following the graveside services, the family invites everyone to join them at Mt. Washington United Methodist Church, 584 South Arlington Ave., Independence, Missouri.
