Elverda Walker

Mrs. Elverda M. Walker, born in 1932 in Cameron, Missouri, Clinton Co., to the late Adah C. Hay and the late Peter Samuel Bayer, passed away at age 86 on July 31, 2018 in Kansas City, Missouri. Elverda attended Cameron High School. Elverda was the loving spouse of the late Johnnie E. Walker.

Elverda is preceded in death by her brothers, Francis Bayer and Charles Bayer. She is survived by her son, David R. Zieber; daughters, Linda K. Gingrich and Diana F. Gee; step-daughter, Patty Cooper; sisters, Madeline Herring and Mary Wohlgemuth; and grandchildren, Melissa Sauser, Guy Gingrich, Nicole Zieber, Stephanie Agne, Jeremy Gee, and Amanda Gee; step grandsons, Eric Grote, Adam Cooper, and Cody Cooper; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Elverda enjoyed crafts, drawing, jewelry making, party planning and decorating. Elverda retired from Walmart as a retail associate and was a member of Antioch Bible Baptist Church.

Friends and family can pay their respects at the visitation on Monday, August 6 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, 1640 N. State Route 291, Liberty, MO 64068. Following that, there will be a funeral service, officiated by Pastor Bob Baier, at 1:00 p.m. at Park Lawn Northland Chapel. A committal at the graveside, officiated by Pastor Bob Baier, will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City, MO 64138. Donations in Elverda’s name to Antioch Bible Baptist Church, 800 NE 72nd Street, Gladstone, MO 64118 and Encompass Health Home Health & Hospice, 219 SW Noel Street, Lee’s Summit, MO 64063 are welcome and appreciated.
