Jerry Francis Ward, 82, of the Foxwood Springs community in Raymore, MO, and formerly of the Kansas City Northland, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2021, at NorthCare Hospice House.

Jerry was born August 5, 1939, in Trenton, MO, where he graduated from high school. He owned and operated the Jerry Ward Construction Company for over five decades in the Kansas City metropolitan area.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Ward; mother, Melvene Ashbrook; and sister, Gloria Anderson. Survivors include his wife, Shelda Stoker; daughters, Cathy Ward, Susan Brock (Bryan), Lisa White (Jerry), and Amra Wright (Heinrich Kruse); grandchildren, Jacqueline Brock, Courtney Robertshaw (Ryan), and Jerry Krulic; great grandchildren, Sutton and Coy; sister, Phyllis Dalman (Steve); as well as other family members including Shelda's family, and countless friends and Brothers in the Masonic fraternity.

Jerry had an extensive Masonic resume. He served with distinction in many Masonic bodies. Jerry’s record includes the following: he was raised in 1966 as a member of Liberty Lodge No. 31, served as Worshipful Master in 1989, and was recognized as a 50-Year Member of his Lodge; was exalted in 1967 as a member of Liberty Chapter No. 3, served as High Priest in 1978, and was recognized as a 50-Year Member of his Chapter; he was greeted in 1967 as a member of Liberty Council No. 50, served as Illustrious Master in 1981, and was recognized as a 50-Year Member of his Council; he was knighted in 1967 as a member of Liberty Commandery No. 6, served as Eminent Commander in 1974, and was recognized as a 50-Year Member of his Commandery. Jerry started in the Grand Commandery Line in 1984. He served as Grand Commander of the Grand Commandery of Knights Templar of the State of Missouri for the 1990 - 1991 Templar year. Jerry received the Grand Encampment’s Knight Commander of the Temple in 1999. Jerry was also affiliated with the Scottish Rite in the Valley of Kansas City, having been coronated a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Freemason. He was also affiliated with many invitational Masonic organizations including, but not limited to: Knight Masons, Allied Masonic Degrees, Red Cross of Constantine, York Rite College, Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests, DeMolay Legion of Honor, and Knights of the York Cross of Honor.

Jerry was a member of the following Masonic Appendant bodies: Mary Conclave Red Cross of Constantine, Past Sovereign 2002; Past Intendant General Missouri – Northern Division 2006-2015, Kilwinning Council No. 19 Allied Masonic Degrees, Past Sovereign Master 1994. Harry S Truman York Rite College No. 167, Past Preeminent Governor 1998; Grand Governor, Missouri, 2014-2018; Order of the Purple Cross Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests Our Lord’s Tabernacle No. LIV, Past Knight Commander 2002 Charlemagne Council Knight Masons 79, Past Excellent Chief Knights of the York Cross of Honour Missouri Priory #17, Past Prior 2013-2014 Saint Joseph Preceptory DeMolay Legion of Honor, 2013 Order of the Silver Trowel Order of the High Priesthood.

Jerry’s visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, November 19, 2021, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO. A service celebrating Jerry's life, including Masonic services by Brother David Brown, will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel.
