Myrtle Lee Warren

Myrtle Lee Warren, 102, passed away November 4, 2020.  Visitation 9AM, services 10AM, Friday, November 13 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd.; burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Myrtle L. Warren was born on October 1, 1918, to the late Marcellus Phillips and Lettie Wyatt-Phillips of Holy Grove, Arkansas. She was educated in the Arkansas Public School System. Myrtle peacefully passed away from her earthly body on November 4, 2020, into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father at the age of 102, surrounded by her loving family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She is preceded in death by her sons; John Warren Jr. and Joe Warren; her sister Ellen Ballard.

Myrtle confessed a hope in Christ on September 2, 1935, and united with the Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Turner, Arkansas. In 1937, she moved to Blackton, Arkansas, where she met the late John Warren, Sr., and they were married in February 1939. In 1942, Myrtle united with the Pine Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board for several years. In 1958, she moved to Hicks, Arkansas, and there she joined the New Mount Everett Missionary Baptist Church and continued to serve. On January 10, 1966, she moved to Marvell, Arkansas, and there she worked as a nurse’s assistant at the Cedar Lodge Nursing Home for 19 plus years. Myrtle then went home to take care of her mother. In November 2000, she moved to Grandview, Missouri, to be near her children and united with the Gospel Tithing Bible Church under the leadership of Dr. F.L. Jordan.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons and their spouses: Levester and Sandra Warren and Rubin and Willa Warren; one daughter, Ruby Warren, all of Kansas City, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; Goddaughters: Ada B. Dodson and Rose Mary Taylor; special friends Selma and Josephine; and a host of family and friends.
