Ralph became my neighbor when I was 12 years old. He was trying to do a garden and dad took the tractor down there to plowing disc for him and he couldn't figure out what dad wanted because he wasn't used to country people yet. His son TJ and myself became pretty good friends for like if anybody else being around I guess for no other reason so I guess I've known him for the biggest part of my life and he will be missed. I remember him milk the goats in my cocker spaniel Ruffian going down there and he would shoot milk into Ruffy's mouth and just laugh and laugh and laugh at that dog.

I knew Ralph because of his marriage to Carla. (I was Carla’s co-worker for years & spent various times at their home in the early years before Ralph’s deteriorated.) I do remember many spirited discussions we had over Bible passages & sharing a good meal that Carla made for us. Ralph loved Carla & it sustained her when the tough times came. We talked a great deal about many things & I am grateful that Carla allowed me into her circle of trust. Rest In Peace, Ralph; you lived up to every promise you made to Carla. Hope you got all your Bible questions answered (or at least you can enjoy the new scavenger hunt in heaven to find those answers). I expect a big bear hug of welcome when I get there. To Ralph’s family, take comfort that his pain & any suffering has ended. Be kind to each other at this time. And none kind to yourself as this grief will pass in time.

I did not know Ralph personally, but I felt like I did through Carla. She told me once how they met on the bus because he was the bus driver. Over the years I know they had their hardships and his health declined, but I will miss hearing about him. I hope he rests in peace.
