Caryn Watts was born on May 18th, 1986 in Kansas City, MO. Caryn was the youngest child of Jerry and Betty Watts. She graduated from Grandview High School and earned her Bachelor’s degree and two Master’s degrees from Park University.

Caryn was employed by Dine Brands in Guest Relations since 2016.

Caryn was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was happiest when she was spending time with her family.  She loved when she was dancing or “free-styling” with her nieces.

Caryn was full of life and energy. She was loved by many and gave as much. She was always helping people and making them laugh. Her sisters often told her she was the funniest person they knew.

Caryn loved music. She had the gift of playing music by ear on pretty much every instrument she touched. She often would hear a song she liked, sit down at a piano or with one of her many guitars and immediately begin playing the song.

She also loved sports. She played soccer, softball, basketball, ran track and was a gymnast. She often encouraged her nieces to play sports and often supported them at their games. She was an avid Chiefs fan and spent every Sunday watching the games with her dad.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Truman Williams, Robert Watts, and Jacenter Watts.

Caryn leaves to cherish her memory her parents Jerry and Betty Watts. Her grandmother, Jeanette Smith (Paul). Her sisters Carla Tabron -Leggs (Michael), Tracy Tabron, Kiesha Sariah (Leon), Jeri Wright (Marcus) and her brother Ahsan Washington-Watts. Her nieces Deborai, Zaina, Layana, Aviona, Ahsanae, Kamryn and Kierra and her Nephew Taysahn. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many many friends.

Funeral services for Caryn will be 11:00AM, Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Willis Chapel AME Church, 5332 S. Benton Boulevard, Kansas City, MO 64130. Visitation will begin one hour prior at church. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery. Arrangments through Park Lawn Funeral Home (816)523-1234.
