Zachary M. Whittaker

November 1, 1992 — February 6, 2021

Zachary Mitchell Whittaker, 28, of Liberty, MO, passed away February 6, 2021.

Zach was born November 1, 1992, in Sleepy Hollow, NY, the second of three children of Gregg and Annette (Stevens) Whittaker. Zach and his sisters Katie and Hannah were great friends in all things.

The family moved to Liberty in 1999. Zach was a graduate of Liberty High School where he was a proud member of its varsity state runner up Liberty Blue Jays baseball team. He received his triple major Bachelor's degree from William Jewell College and Master's degree from Meinders School of Business in Oklahoma City.

Zach currently managed the offices of Dentures and Dental Services in Gladstone. There, he developed his passion for dentistry and was in the process of completing prerequisites, hoping to attend dental school this fall.

Among his passions, Zach was extremely athletic, excelled in any sport and loved keeping physically fit. He was a believer in Jesus Christ and a faithful Christian servant, striving to choose God's way in all he did. He was a member of the Church of Christ and considered fellow church members his extended family.

Zach was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dick and Bobbie Whittaker; cousins, Miranda Paige and Mitchell Gregg "Mad Dog" Whittaker.

His empathic and caring spirit will be missed by his mom and dad, Gregg and Ann; sisters, Katelin Annette Whittaker and Hannah Jo Whittaker; maternal grandparents, Tom and Barbara Stevens; aunts, uncles and cousins, Nan and Doug Smith (Emma, Tyler and Josh), Tom and Kathy Stevens (Marty and Riley), Tim and Jana Stevens, Mark and Penny Whittaker (Josh) and Darrin and Carla Whittaker (Bryce); as well as other family members, his church family, his longtime school buddies and countless other friends. He also leaves his best friend, his dog Lylia, who now lives with her "grandparents".

Visitation will be held from 4-5:30 pm Thursday, February 11, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO. Private services will follow. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Kansas City YMCA Challenger Sports Program (kansascityymca.org), where Zach volunteered at the Fred and Shirley Pryor stadium in the Northland.

In conclusion, Zach would share with you his life verse from 2 Timothy 1:7: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."
