Wilford Redmond "Bill" Sears, Jr., 94, passed away September 29, 2021, at his home with loved ones at his side.
Bill was born October 1, 1926, in Kansas City, MO, the only child of Wilford Redmond Sears, Sr. and Lorene Roberts Sears. He graduated from Moberly High School in Moberly, MO. Bill was united in marriage to Betty Ann Melloway on October 5, 1946.
Bill joined the US Navy in 1943, serving during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He retired after 20 years of service as a QM1 in 1965. He was a member of the VFW.
Bill later worked as an Investigator and Administrative Officer for the City of Kansas City Industries Regulation (Liquor Control).
Bill is a member of Fairview Christian Church in Gladstone.
Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Betty; children, Cathy Starr (Richard), Kerry Sears (Angie) and Julie Shoemaker (Mark, deceased); six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
