Berl A. Wilkes, 90, of Kansas City, passed away September 12, 2018. Visitation will begin at 2pm, followed by services at 3pm on Wednesday September 19 at the Park Lawn Chapel; private interment in Green Lawn Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be made to KC Hospice House.
Berl was born October 29, 1927 in Jamestown, MO, and had lived in this area since 1952. He served in the US Navy during WWII in Operation Crossroads. He worked in concrete construction most of his life and had co-owned Decorative Concrete Structure before retiring. After retiring, he began working part time at Park Lawn Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Irene, in 2016. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, David and Cherie Wilkes of Olathe, KS, and a daughter, Beverly Stevens of KCMO; three grandchildren, Derek, Brad and Cara; a great-grandson, Jackson; and one brother, Jerry Wilkes of Lee's Summit, MO.
