It is with great sadness, we share that Bill Kuenne passed away March 24, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. Bill was a beloved father, husband, friend & veteran.
William Harold Kuenne, otherwise known as Bill, was born January 17, 1932 in St. Louis, Missouri to William Lewis Kuenne and Esther (Diekmann) Kuenne. Bill graduated from Affton High School in 1950, then soon after enlisted into the Army where he served until 1954.
Bill married Rosie Schuette from Washington, Missouri on February 23, 1957, where they would spend 68, wonderful and beautiful years together. They would raise two children Jeffery Kuenne and Karen Kuenne Skinner. Bill very much loved his 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, as well as spending time golfing, playing softball and bowling.
After graduating from UMKC Night School in 1963, Bill worked at Bayer, as Manager of the Traffic and Transportation Division, retiring after 24 dedicated years.
He served as President on several boards including President of the Transportation Club and Church Console of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ. He was a very loyal and dedicated church parishioner, including St. Peter’s United Church of Christ and St. Luke’s United Church of Christ.
Bill will be remembered for his optimism, his loyalty to those he loved, and his passion for Kansas City sports. He is met in heaven by his parents and his grandson, Derek Skinner.

He is survived by: Rosie Kuenne, Jeffrey and Diane Kuenne, Karen Kuenne-Skinner, Ryan Skinner, Adam Skinner and Courtney Kelley, Jacob and Claire Christensen, William Kuenne, Ella Skinner, Oliver Skinner, and Grayson Skinner.
