David Ray Williams

November 27, 1949 — November 1, 2018

David Ray Williams, 68, returned to his heavenly home on November 1, 2018. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in Korea, a Senior Airman, returning to the states as a Recruiter for the United States Air Force. David attended Midwestern Seminary after the Air Force, answering his calling from God to be a Pastor.

David was born to Raymond and Shirley Williams in Kansas City, Missouri on November 27, 1949. David was blessed with a large and loving family. He married his best friend, Betsy Bennett on August 8, 1992. He shared his love for photography, reading, and movies with his family.

David was an author at heart and wrote several poems and short stories, as well as a full-length novel. He is dearly missed by his loved ones who celebrate the fact that he is with his Heavenly Father.

David is survived by his wife Betsy; his daughters, Ginny, Amy, Rebekah, and Amie; his sons-in-law, Eric, Mike, and Nic; his grandchildren, Haleigh, Christopher, Megan, Michael, Mateo, Maddon, Davyn, and Claira; his great-grandchildren, Madilyn and Mason; his brother, Jim and Randy; and his sister, Vickie. He is preceded in death by his son Chris, his brother Rick, and his parents.

There is a celebration of life at Briarcliff Church, 800 NE Vivion Rd., at 12:00pm on November 3, 2018. Burial will be in Leavenworth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the North Kansas City Hospice House. Arrangements: Park Lawn Northland Chapel 816-781-8228

Burial will be in Leavenworth National Cemetery.
