James L. Williams

James LeRoy Williams passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on February 25, 1947 in Pittsburg, Kansas.

James graduated from Raytown South High School in 1965 with honors. Continuing his education, James earned a Bachelor of Science engineering degree from General Motors Institute. After receiving a full-ride academic scholarship from Purdue University, he graduated with an MBA in 1971.

James served in the Army National Guard from 1967 to 1969. For ten years, James was the CEO at Rynell Boat Manufacturing in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He also worked as the Plant Manager for Butler Manufacturing in Grandview, Missouri. James held numerous responsible positions throughout his career, including his lifetime membership of Beacon Free Will Baptist Church.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Williams, his daughter, Stephanie Williams, his brother, Danny Williams, and both of his parents, J.E. and Jean Williams.

Survived by daughter, Stacy Ward (Joe)of Shawnee, Oklahoma; four grandchildren: Cameron Ward (Megan) of Moore, Oklahoma, Tyler Ward, Shawnee, Oklahoma, Dylan Williams of the home in Lee's Summit,  Missouri, and Kaitlin Ward, Moore, Oklahoma; brother, Mike Williams (Norma) Fittstown, Oklahoma;  sisters: Luanne Maggard(David), and Christy Hood(Earl) Ada, Oklahoma.

Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2019, at Park Lawn Funeral Home, followed by the funeral ceremony beginning at 2 p.m. Lunch will be provided at Beacon Free Will Baptist Church, located at 79th and Harris in Raytown, Missouri. Dress code will be casual.

Service Information:

Funeral service will be 2:00p.m. Friday, August 16, 2019, at Park Lawn Funeral Home. Family will receive friends beginning at 1:00p.m. at the chapel.  Private burial.
