Marilyn Theresa (Afrisio) Williamson

Marilyn Theresa (Afrisio) Williamson, 73, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022 at her home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, 1640 N. M-291 Hwy, Liberty, MO. 64068. A visitation will be from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Glenridge Cemetery in Liberty, Missouri.

Marilyn was born on August 24, 1949 to Richard and Constance (Mazza) Afrisio. She went to Holy Rosary Catholic School and later to Liberty Junior and Senior High School, graduating in 1967. She had two loves of her life, Pete Williamson, who she married in June 1969. They had three wonderful sons: David Michael, Brian Scott, and Kristoffer Brett. Marilyn was active in their school lives serving as PTA Treasurer, volunteering as teacher aides, and playing an active role in their school activities, field trips and the like. She and Pete were married 24 years until his untimely death in 1993.

Marilyn held two full time jobs in her life. Both serving the public. The first was at Montgomery Ward where she worked for 12 years until they closed their doors at the Metro North location. While working there she met Gary Bauermeister. He came into her life at a time when she needed to laugh again after the great loss of her husband 1 1/2 years before. And did he ever make her laugh and continued to do so. Gary came into her life as mom's boyfriend, never interfering with the raising or decisions about her children. He has been a wonderful partner and source of comfort for the last 28 years. She also worked in Walmart at the Liberty/Kansas City, Missouri location for over 20 years. And for 8 years she worked for the Kansas City Royals.

The next joys of her life came as her grandchildren arrived, Joseph Michael, Kayla Marie, Alyssa Therese, and Brodie Pete. And the none great granddaughter Elaina. They have brought her more joy and happiness than any one person deserves.

Marilyn's daughters-in-law need to be recognized as well. The women her sons have chosen to fulfill their life's dreams. They have been a great source of comfort for many years and hopefully will continue to do so. Kathy should be acknowledged for bringing her to not one but two Garth Brooks concerts. Highlight of her life!
