James “Jim” Lee Witt

James “Jim” Lee Witt, 77, passed away November 13, 2019. Jim is survived by his wife Janice, brother John (Jan) Witt, two sons Robert (Janet) Dover and James (Deb) Dover, three grandchildren: Brittany, Ryan and Nicole Dover, four great grandchildren: Cameron, Ashton, Brayden and Arianna Dover and his faithful canine companion Nala. He was preceded in death by his parents Willis “Bill” and Sylvia Fern Witt, two sisters Thelma Follett and Betty Wagner, and grandson Cluren Dover.

Jim and Janice celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 17, 2019. After 34 years of service, Jim retired from Sibley Power Plant on December 31, 2018. Prior to this, he worked at Firestone for 25 years and with his brother at South KC Tire.

Jim was a US Army Veteran and served in Vietnam. He was a 1960 graduate of Collins High School in Collins, Missouri.

Visitation 12PM, service 1PM, Monday, November 18 at Park Lawn, 8251 Hillcrest Rd.; burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
