Karen Elaine Wood, 61, passed away Jan. 21, 2021 at Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be at 12:00 noon, followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd, Kansas City, MO.   Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery.

Karen was born June 17, 1959 in Kansas City, MO to Roy R. and Lois F. (Padgett) West. She attended Westport High School and graduated from Penn Valley Community College. She worked for Southland Lumber Company and then for Clarkson Power Flow in their respective Accounting Departments until her retirement for health reasons.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, James Maurice Wood. Survivors include her stepson James David Wood and wife Mary Ann of Maryland; brother Harold West of Kansas City; aunt Rose West of Kansas City; aunts Martha Padgett and Myrtle Padgett of Central Missouri; niece Phyllis Fisher and husband Paul of Marshfield; nephew Reathel Bean and wife Holly of New Jersey; and several great-nephews and great nieces; first cousins Lisa Casteel and husband Dan of Kansas City, Dan West and wife Mary of Overland Park, Wendy Dunn of Texas; and several other cousins in the Kansas City, Belton and St. Louis areas.
