Sandra Sue Woodward

August 13, 1946 — February 27, 2020

Sandra Sue Woodward, 73, of Gladstone, went to be with the Lord on February 27, 2020. She passed away at NorthCare Hospice House with family at her side.

Sandy was born August 13, 1946, in Kansas City, MO, the eldest of three children of L. Ralph and Lois (Harlow) Smith. Along with her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Kent Smith.

Sandy worked as a hairdresser from 1978 until she retired, and was a member of Living Word Community Church. She enjoyed crafts, her email friends, eating out, and was a longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi and the Clay County American Red Cross Disaster Team. She also was a longtime blood drive volunteer at Liberty United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Gary; children, Daphne House (Kevin), Alan Woodward (Mikki) and Lori Hurla (Kent); grandchildren, Blake, Kelsey, Alillia, Brock and Brody; great grandchildren, Kaidance, Teegan, Oliver, and a fourth due in July; brother, Jeffrey Smith (Leslie); as well as other family members and friends.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a service celebrating Sandy's life at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, March 3, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty. Burial will follow at Glenridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Living Word Community Church, Gladstone, MO.

Service Information:

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a service celebrating Sandy’s life at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, March 3, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty. Burial will follow at Glenridge Cemetery.
