Loyd (Wayne) Yeisley

March 30, 1941 — February 19, 2019

Wayne was born March 30, 1941 to Orvel and Irene Yeisley of rural Sheldon Missouri. At a young age, Wayne accepted Christ as his personal Savior while attending church camp. He graduated from Sheldon High School in 1959, excelling in academics, music, athletics and ALWAYS looking good. In 1961, Wayne married his high school sweetheart, Donna Kay Gonterman. She passed away in May 1980.

Wayne moved to Kansas City in 1959 and began his 42 yr career at Hallmark Cards. There he met Karen. They were married in 1982 after a brief courtship.

Wayne lived his life with a quiet but mighty passion for Jesus Christ. He served in ministries of church/worship leadership and Christian education. He served on board of directors for West Central Christian Service Camp and Central College of the Bible. He wanted people to know the love of Jesus and would often ask in song “tell me (name) do you love Jesus?”

Even after he began struggling with Parkinson’s symptoms, Wayne attended Missions trips to Mexico with the Hero Makers ministry team. He knew no prejudices. Wayne stood on the promise of Christ in Him, the Hope of Glory.

September 2017, Wayne moved to Armour Oaks Skilled Nursing. This became his new mission field. His life of integrity and dignity were his subtle trademark. All who knew him saw these characteristics in a remarkable way. A man admired and loved by so many. O Wayne O Wayne O Wayne we KNOW it is well with your soul!!

On February 19, 2019 Wayne received his Heavenly crown of Glory.

Wayne is survived by his wife Karen, son Dayne (Tonda), daughter Shannon Caby (Tim), son Shawn (Dru), son Shayne (Kirsten) and daughter Aubree Taylor (Darrin), 15 grandchildren, one great grandson which was Wayne’s most recent JOY. He is also survived by sisters Dorthy Meyer (Don) and Nancy Whitaker (Art) and many nieces and nephews.

Many many thanks to the staff of Armour Oaks for their love and care for Wayne. You became family.
