Keith A Zajic Jr was born August 7, 1966 at KU medical center, Kansas City, Kansas & received his wings at St. Luke’s Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri on February 6, 2019 at 6:27 AM. Our lives were so very blessed by his birth and forever changed by his death.
He attended Blackburn elementary in Independence, Missouri & Nixon elementary in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Raytown South middle and graduated from Raytown South high school in 1984.
His brave courageous fight against cancer began just two weeks before the birth of his grandchild Zakariah Keith Zajic on March 14, 2015, Their bond was and remains magical from day one until present, they adored each other, Keith created so many memories and adventures for the two of them in the short time (almost 4 years) that he had left, many camping trips, zoo visits, a vacation to Tennessee and many more. Many of these adventures included Maxx & Mark Salas his 2 other grandchildren, Jeanna Roberts his fiancée & Maddie her great niece. He also loved watching the Chiefs games at his home with close friends and family.
He was involved in a 12 step program which helped turn his life around & enabled him to become closer to God & to have a positive effect in helping many others enjoy the same success & peace that he had found thru the program, He celebrated 16 years of sobriety October 7, 2018.
He worked at the family business on & off from the age of 15 until his late 20’s with many jobs in between. He returned to Mr Z’s full time in 2000, He took over full operation of the store in July 2011 when his dad decided to retire, he was very successful in that position making his mom and dad very proud.
Keith was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Amy Rose Zajic & Nick Zajic, His maternal grandparents Wanda & Fred Selle, the mother of his 3 sons, Anna Maria Bernal & 3 uncles Jimmy Carter, Jim Napper & Robert (Butch) Selle. He is survived by his father, Keith A Zajic Sr, his mother, Fredena (Freddie) L Zajic, his little sister, Wendi Patrick (Zajic) his 3 sons, Mark Salas, Zak & Tony Zajic, his long time fiancée & caregiver during his illness, Jeanna Roberts & his 3 grandchildren, Mark & Maxx Salas & Zakariah Zajic along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. Service Information:Visitation will be 6-8PM, Tuesday, February 12 and services 1PM, Wednesday, February 13, both at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd.; burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
