Lee Ann Zech

Lee Ann Parrish Zech, 56, a longtime Liberty resident, passed away October 5, 2019, surrounded by her family at K.U. Medical Center.

Lee Ann was born June 24, 1963, in Miami, Oklahoma, the eldest of two children of Joseph and Charolene (Post) Parrish. Her father preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Jerry Zech on September 3, 1988, in Springfield, Missouri.

Lee Ann was a graduate of Kickapoo High School in Springfield, received her Bachelor's degree from Penn State University and Master's degree from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville. She was currently working on her second Master's degree at Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas.

Lee Ann's career in Office Administration spanned the past 20 years, including work at William Jewell College, Metropolitan Community Colleges and most recently at Children's Mercy Hospital. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Liberty.

Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Jerry; mother, Charolene Parrish; children, Kelli Licht (Kevin) and Connor Zech (Courtney); brother, Joseph Lee Parrish (Sandra); nephew, Weston Parrish; as well as other family members and many friends.

Visitation will be held from 6 pm until 8 pm on Wednesday October 9th at Second Baptist Church, 309 East Kansas Street, Liberty. A service celebrating Lee Ann's life will be held at 11 am on Thursday October 10th at Second Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the KU Med Center Cardiac ICU Unit or Hillcrest Ministries.

Visitation will be held from 6 pm until 8 pm on Wednesday October 9th at Second Baptist Church, 309 East Kansas Street, Liberty. A service celebrating Lee Ann’s life will be held at 11 am on Thursday October 10th at Second Baptist Church.
